I’m Mohamad Afiq, an IT System Engineer working with enterprise infrastructure, where keeping systems available, protected, and recoverable is part of the job.

My day-to-day work involves backup and disaster recovery, virtualization, enterprise storage, Windows and Linux systems, monitoring, infrastructure maintenance, and troubleshooting. Over the years, I’ve worked with technologies such as Veeam, virtualization platforms, enterprise storage, and various infrastructure solutions, dealing with both routine operations and the occasional problem that decides to appear at the worst possible time.

I created ALKNETWORK to document what I learn from working with real production environments. The focus is not on complicated theory or perfect lab scenarios, but on practical knowledge that can actually be applied: how systems work, how things break, how to troubleshoot them, and what to consider before making changes in a production environment.

Some of the articles here are based on technologies I work with, while others come from problems, investigations, and lessons learned along the way. The goal is simple: turn real-world IT experience into useful knowledge that others can learn from.

Because in infrastructure, things rarely fail according to plan. And unfortunately, there is still no button labelled “Fix Everything.”
